On July 1, 2010 the U.S. House of Representatives passed FY2010 supplemental appropriations legislation by a 239-182 vote.  The Senate will consider this appropriations legislation after the July 4th recess.
From WhiteHouse.gov:
“Develop the Market for Clean Energy Technologies. The Budget substantially expands support for construction of new nuclear power plants by increasing the Department of Energy [...]

Money is being dumped everywhere the nation ‘needs’ it.  Is it helping?  I guess it is.  Do we see the so called stimulus stimulating anything (the other day my engineering buddy was laid off)?  So I can not say for sure.
What I can say for sure is that if the DOE LOAN guarantees are passed and raised by $36 [...]

On Monday I attended an American Nuclear Society meeting.  The guest speaker was my company’s Federal Regulatory Affairs Analyst (essentially our lobbyist).  He was telling us about the perceptions of legislators regarding nuclear power and its role in the climate change debate and legislation.  Interestingly, when both Democrat and Republican legislators were polled (anonymously) regarding [...]

Palo Verde Nuclear Generation Site is located about 40 minuets outside of Phoenix, AZ.  It is the largest nuclear power site in the US with three units, and produces more power than the Hoover Dam!  I know what you are thinking, why would we build a nuclear power plant in the desert, where the fear [...]

I just read an article by a Stanley Miller from Journal Sentinel about a Discovery World museum that has a large exhibit focused on clean energy.  The focal point of the exhibit is a large model nuclear reactor.  What better way is there to educate people on nuclear power than to show them how it [...]

Presidents Obama’s new budget plan has pulled the financing for Yucca Mountain! For a President that said he was NOT against nuclear energy he seems to be passing legislation showing he IS against nuclear energy.  I see it as a slap in the face for all people in the nuclear industry. Nuclear energy was invented [...]

Just a quick post to get a better understanding of people’s opinion of the current election. I know that the candidates’ energy policy has been debated several times and I was curious as to what people thought about the candidates’ position.

Howdy,
I have to say that there is nothing better than working on a car. Popping the hood of the car, looking at the combustion engine staring you in the face and whispering to you sweet Rpm’s! There is beauty in how everything is designed to make your vehicle run, especially the old school American muscle [...]
